Pixi! Believe In Me.: Stages of Tumblr.
1. Making one
At this stage you don’t really have any idea what to do on tumblr, your friend probably told you to make one, so you only follow them. Your dashboard is pretty dead, but then again, you don’t know what a dashboard is.
2. Clueless
At this stage you really don’t know what to do or post about. You just browse around, and since your dashboard is still, “dead” you think tumblr is pointless. You may ask your friend for help on how to work tumblr- but that is unacceptable and practically impossible- Tumblr is a learn it yourself thing.
3. Minor Hiatus
Now that your friend can’t help you and you don’t know what to do, you push tumblr away for a while. For some people, this hiatus can last from a week to a long time.
4. Return
Since you have nothing to do and told much more people you have a tumblr, they ask you to follow them. Since you think it’s nothing- you do it. Then your dashboard evoves into something that amuses you. Welcome- you have now been welcomed to the world of tumblr
5. Reblogger
You still don’t know what to do on tumblr- but you know the basics. Like, reblog, and ask. So usually, at this stage you don’t have many original posts, so a majority of your blog is reblogs. that’s fine- but it wasn’t what tumblr was made for. Some people stay in this stage the longest.
5. Discovery
You now follow a handful of people, but you want more- a few more friends maybe. Then you discover MEmes, Fuck yeahs!, notes, and fan blogs. All these new things could amuse you, so you decide to follow a few. Then you discover that whenevr you get a new follower or a note- you are filled with a certain joy that is unexplainable. You now know that if you overuse the reblog system, you can lose followers. And sometimes- there are hate questions in your ask box. But if you learn anything from staying on tumblr for a while its that you have to brush haters off the shoulders. They have no life .
6. Addiction
You can’t fight it- You stay on tumblr longer almost each day. Your dashboard is filled with too much intersting things, you have to see it all. Insomnia can occur as a side effect. Also, loss of sleep and productivity. Then you discover that most of the knowledge you know at the top of your head comes from tumblr. for most people, you stay on this stage for a REALLLY REALLLY LONG TIME.
